a lovely shot of our feathered friend. Every year, on their migratory route, thousands of these beauties spend a couple of weeks or so in a wildlife refuge right outside Monte Vista in southern Colorado. We call it Sandhill Crane Festival. It's a huge community event to go watch them as they hang around several lakes and ponds.
